That's not my experience. New cars (A4 etc.) come with the 17mm female hex
bolt from the factory; the bolt is a torque to yield bolt and should be
replaced each time removed.
I've got a 1/2" drive hex driver that accepts multiple size hex drivers,
including the 17. You can also use the sears 17mm giant hex key with a cheater
pipe for that final torque.
