aluminum cleaning the easy way

Hate that unsightly intake manifold and valve cover? Speckled white
stuff all over the place, and a dull look?

Pop down to the friendly local hardware store and buy a can of PB
Blaster. Spray on, rub liberally, repeat. Tada!

(I discovered this entirely by accident while working on replacing
the master cylinder, and noticed the old unit was looking rather nice
after I cleaned all the PB blaster off it)

Caveat- I have yet to fire up the engine since this cleaning, so I
have no idea what the PB is going to do- if your engine catches fire,
well, I warned you :-)

Oh, and here's another tip- if you change your MC, make sure to apply
rust preventative inside the front of the assist unit, since it is
cast iron, and water DOES get in there for some reason.

The bottom part of my master cylinder was so corroded that the lip is
almost gone, and I had to spend about 30 minutes cleaning out the
inside of the assist unit...

It might not hurt to put a touch of silicone on the joint between mc
and assist unit to keep water from entering...
