CD Changer

With the OEM (Sony?) unit, are two frequency settings possible (via a
switch on the FM modulator). Have you tried tuning your receiver to
the other frequency-- 88.7 Mhz? Also, that modulator switch has been
known to become lodged, inadvertantly, in the middle--so that neither
frequency will work.

The poor transmission is not necessarily a fault of the "CD changer"
itself; it is possibly caused by a defective FM modulator unit, which
is located (buried) above the front passenger footwell ductwork.  In
my car, the symptom was that the CD would always play OK at
first--for about 5 minutes--then faded out to static. Replaced the
modulator and solved the problem.
