[e//S2] Air flow options

Hi Pat.
You'll get lots of different opinions on chips.
My bux went to Ned Ritchie at IA for his III+
upgrade. He has been very helpful as I got the
motor sorted to the point where chipping it made
sense. Nice to have someone to talk to when the
boost stops flowing.

For RS2 tidbits try Ned, Alex at
www.euro-audi-parts.com, or 2B (likely most
expensive). IMO
you should consider a turbo upgrade to fully exploit
the better breathing EM and exhaust. Allows boost
into mid 20s, whereas prevailing wisdom says K24
is best kept to 20 at most (eg. 2.5bar upgrade).
I still have K24 and stock EM, but when the wallet
fattens they will be upgraded.

You should already have an oil cooler on your
200Q20V. I have that swapped into my coupe, though
I'm not thrilled with the current mounting scheme.
With that and a 4-row Al radiator I have great engine
temps. In fact initially they were too low, but
a new Tstat fixed that.

Advice based on my personal experience, get a Vag-com
and an analog boost guage and go through everything
and make sure all is 100% kosher prior to adding
boost. I got what was supposed to be a "ready to
drive" transplant from 2Bennett, but in reality it
is a 12-year old motor with 150kmi and stuff gets
worn out. I have since then replaced a whole bunch
of sensors and hoses. Starting over, I would have
just replaced all this stuff while the engine was
out.

And yes it is fun.
