Folks:
Long story short - I was troubleshooting an ongoing hard start condition ( with smell of fuel outside car)...discovered that the fuel pump had been replaced with the newer style pump...further troubleshooting under the hood found that one for the crimps on the flex line by the fuel filter was leaking gasoline near the turbo...YIKES
Cut off the flex line which left the main line section with its flare, as well as the section near the passenger fender.
Replaced the section with 5/16 inch fuel injection grade rubber fuel line and fuel injection hose clamps ( pulled the hose over the flare on the lines and put the hose clamps there)
So far it seems ok
Has anyone else had this happen and followed a different repair approach?
Yes, ideally I would have loved to replace the line with something factory grade...but there doesnt seem to be alot of alternatives.
