Brakes/Steering

When I turn the car at slow speed ( 5-10 mph) and apply the brakes ( like
pulling into a parking place), the brake pedal gets very firm and feels
almost like ABS is coming on. Usually I brake first and then begin the
turn - the pedal feels normal until the steering is about 1/2 way then it
gets firm. Fluid level is good in steering and brake systems.

Any ideas where to start looking?

Looks like I'm also in for the dash ground repair - I was driving the other
day with the headlights on and looked down to see both turn signal
indicators lit up. Quick hit to the top of the dash and they went out and
haven't returned. On the car I totaled in May, I'd had that symptom (very
infrequently) for about a yr .
