I read Scott's response to mean if the original distrib was changed to a
metal gear, FROM plastic.........................not a replacement distributor
W/metal gear.
So now I'm going out on a limb here to ask:
Was the plastic gear (worn or not) prone to sloppy "play" and hence the:
"responsible for causing spark arcing
between 2 cylinders leading to severe engine damage." as Minhea puts it.
