plastic rain diverter......

Does anybody have a trick method for re-inserting the plast rain
diverter back into the rubber at the base of the windshield? I
struggle with it every time, and have never got it right. I recently
replaced the windshield and provided a new rain diverter. It came back
properly installed, but I had to remove it to fiddle with the heater
core, and can't get it back in and fully seated.
