YES YES!! please!!
I watched this whole thread, but refrained from commenting since
I would only guess, since the "engine died while running" could be ANYTHING.
Let us say (hypothetically) the fuel pump died. (Symptoms match).
Repeated attempts to start fail, car is towed to the "Audi expert"
who then suggests the timing belt is gone, or distributor "button"
is broken.......gives off worst case scenarios.....panicked owner
tries to get out by cutting his losses and running.
It would appear that all e-mails seem hung up on the distributor or
timing belt because that is what the shop suggested is the problem,
but it just might be a simple ECU fuse blew, or fuel pump fuse...
Then again, it could be an engine with mangled valves,
Only one thing is FOR SURE!! $800 for that car, even just for
parts is most certainly a rip-off
Richard, I hope it works out cheaply in the end, this list is a great help,
