a)never expect to get your money back out of mods.  Period.

b)one person's "looks cool" is another man's "ugh, he did WHAT?"

Personally, I think you made a HUGE mistake in painting over the
wood. It's some of the best wood Audi ever put in a car.

   So far, every new-audi owner who has been in my car has looked
around at the wood and said "Wow.  I -really- like this wood."  The
newer woods look like wallpaper, glued in place...
