Dan,

I agree with Scott. You may be better off removing to mods and selling them
separately.

After reading this list over a year, I get the impression that almost
everyone here is interested in doing things right; the cars here are
generally maintained by their owners or by a trusted wrench that torques
bolts correctly, keeps maintenance up to date, and repairs problems
immediately. In general, when listers modify their cars, cosmetic or
performance, the mods are planned and executed carefully. However, this
list is but a small group when compared to the Audi population in general.
The rest of the world may not be as fastidious. Take a trip over to the
AudiWorld Forums and you will see what I mean.

As someone who spent several years in the car business and also as a
frequent classified ad surfer, I can tell you that many (most?)
owner-executed mods are _not_ first class work. When I see a heavily modded
car two things come to mind:
Someone beats the sh*t out of this car.
I'm sure the mods are held on with coat hangers a chewing gum.
Your mods may be 100% perfectly executed, but as a buyer (BTW I am not in
the market for anything), you still need to overcome my first impression.
Unless I know you personally, that is hard to do.

I think buyers that pay big money for these cars are aficionados that are
looking for relatively stock vehicles. The buyers that want the mods tend
to be the younger buyers that don't have as much available cash. I just
bought a 91 Coupe Quattro. I passed over several $3k to $5k cars that were
modified in favor of completely stock Coupe that I paid almost $6k for.

I am not trying to flame, just trying to help.
