20V tq as first car?

Hello Craig............A huge number of new male drivers end up in a crash
of some kind before they are in their early 20's.

Because of that fact, male or female, I'd pick a car that would be
protective of the driver in a crash. That would be my _first_ priority.

I'm recommending a screening device to eliminate risky choices.

You can check any candidate vehicle for crashworthyness (FREE) at this
excellent web site:

http://www.crashtest.com/default.htm

The site uses color blocks to rank every model of every year of any car you
might be considering. And they break it down into types of crashes and
seating position in the vehicle.
Eliminate any that have red or black markers for the driver. Pick one that
is turquois or green. Just that easy.

All those other recommendations sound excellent to me, but they would take
secondary priority to keeping the student driver from becoming either a
statistic or a person with permanent injuries that would disable them to
some degree for the remainder of their life.

BTDT.

List,
A local 15 year old's parents just bought him a nice, garage kept pearl
white '91 20V tq for his first car. Its dead stock with 120k and he is
currently driving it with his learners permit. His parents won't let him
chip it, but, even without chip boosting, what do ya'll think of this as
a first car for a teenage driver?
