MAF cost (was: Bucking Bronco (was: HELLLLLP! Sudden odd symptom))

Turned out to be the MAF sensor.  OUCH!
$430.00 of OUCH!

Does anyone repair these things (e.g. when
the fine wire inside looks OK, are the
electronics repairable? Could it use an
electrolytic cap replacement like the Bose
amps?)
