Help!, weird electrical problem

Hello all,
I go to leave for work this AM and no start. Then I notice that the emergen=
cy flashers are on, so I turn them off but the switch is already off. I mov=
e the lever up and down and the flashers will not go off! The battery seems=
 strong; power windows, radio, wipers etc. work fine. I jumped the battery =
, but still no start. When I turn the ignition key, all the idiot lights co=
me on, but that's it , not even a click. Put a new starter in a couple of m=
onths ago, so I don't think it is the problem.
Any ideas as to what might be causing these strange symptoms?
