Hi all-
I've sent this to multiple lists, so please excuse if you get 3 copies. A=
nyway--here's my situation (I'll _try_ to be brief)

I want to use the vdo oil temp gauge from a CQ 20V as it has the same temp =
range (170/180C) as the sender in my 3B motor, and it will fit in my 3 gaug=
e pod (like on a CQ 20V). Aftermarket VDO/Autometer oil temp guages are 15=
0C, so they won't work properly. When I hook up the Ground and Positive wi=
res (_without_ the actual signal wire from sender attached) to the gauge fr=
om the CQ, it just pegs at full 170C. Doesn't matter which pole the + goes=
to when the Ground is hooked up - the gauge pegs. The wires properly act=
ivate my VDO Vision gauges (they're just the wrong temp range). I've tried=
2 separate used oil temp gauges froma CQ--same result. Now, the CQ 3 gaug=
e pod wiring harness includes a relay behind the ashtray--maybe this is the=
 culprit.

Can anybody shed some light on this situation?

Thanks-

Brandon
