Doorjamb wiring (was dead battery this morning)

There is an elegant replacement harness described in the archives of about
a year or so ago, along with all the info needed to get the parts and
install the same.
I tried it and found that I could not get the harness to function properly,
so I ended up redoing the entire thing in place, one wire at a time. That
will be my approach for any future doorjamb rewiring I do:
Get some 12, 14, 16 and 22 gauge wire, take the door apart, slip in one
wire, cut the ends of one OEM wire well inside the car and well inside the
door and install the new wire. Then do the next one. And the next. On
and on. The only things going through the doorjamb I didn't replace were
the vacuum hose to the lock system and the wires to the speaker.
Made a wonderful improvement in functioning of the windows and sunroof.
