t89q tranny -> 200q20v

Hi,

Since there are more Type 89 quattros around, and more available used trannys, I'm wondering if they can be viable lower-cost options for replacing the tranny in a 200q20v.

I see that the gear ratios are different between the 90q and the 200q20v, but that the final drive and diff type are the same.  Is it possible to interpret the gear ratios and try to extrapolate how a 200q20v with a t89q tranny would drive?

Does anyone care to try to describe how a T89Q, or any of the other, trannys would make the 200q20v feel?  Better yet, has anyone actually swapped a different tranny into a 200q20v and can give any feedback on it?

I'm leaning toward just a same kind replacement at this point, but maybe someone has some ideas to offer.  A 6 speed would be nice, but probably not worth the cost for me right now.
