Nothing about the rev limiter, I just like to have a
tachometer that accurately reflects the car's redline.

Does the statement about "proper tach [with] 7000rpm redline" imply
that the rev limiter somehow depends on the IC's tachometer? I would
assume the rev-limiter operation would be completely independent of
the instrument cluster.
