ac not working

Well I guess it is time to learn the A/C system.
Sorry East coasters but the weather the last couple days has been really
sweet, cracked 80 deg. today. I found the the a/c is not coming on. The
warning system is telling me that the car has a hot condition in the
dash display( it is not hot or low on coolant )
 I have been doing some reading up on the A/C on Scotts site. What is
the boost limit if the MTFS is telling the ECU that the engine is hot?
Any trouble shooting tips will be greatly appreciated.
