To further sully the waters, and at risk of jinxing my work, I reassembled
my pump using Pentosin as a lube for the o-rings, and have not seen leakage
to this point.
It's been at least two-months now...so maybe there's more of a time lag, but
to date this did not present issue in my case.
...thusly maybe Pentosin is adequate as a lube.

The O-rings sealing the X cylinder heads are subjected to a rotary squeeze
when the head is screwed into place. If the O-ring is not well lubed with
EP grease or antisieze it may be stretched thin in some places and therefore
will be subject to failure at those thinned out places. Lube well when
installing, hyd fluid is not sufficient.
