Agreed detergent helps turn the Oil Black, but at the lenghts of change were
talking about, the Black actually is dirt accumulated over time from the
characterists of a combustion engine.
Once a vehicle was relatively young I could keep oil golden, like new for
~3,000 miles, but later in life (4000Q) ~200,000 to 400,000 miles after some
(winter) stretches of 10,000 mile oil changes that's not possible. Normally
Aspirated: I'd stretch it. Turbo? No Way 3- 5K.
