Have you considered the hose clamps?  When I removed all my heater system
soft parts,  along with replacing the crankcase vacuum system and both
radiators, I found half the OEM hose clamps very difficult to open/close
because the screw part had rusted.   Two even had to have the stainless
bands cut.   I decided to replace them all with clamps that had stainless
screws as well as the bands.
