Samco IC to IM hose

I also found that my MM hose was about 1/2 inch too long, taking 1/4 inch 
off each side helped quite a bit.

Any BTDT on installing the Samco IC to IM hose?
Seems like a real tight fit, and hose is not as flexible as the oe hose.
will removing the IM pipe help?
