On the 200q20v, there's no wiring anywhere near the shifter.

But- while in the engine compartment messing with the shifter near 
the transmission, it could be possible to bump the connections for 
the booster pressure sensor, the reservoir connector, etc.  I agree 
with Huw, this sounds less like a hydraulic system problem and more 
and more like a bumped connector.
