2 Brakes...now after

Scott,
You may be absolutely right, your logic is not to be disputed and you don't
want to be confused with other opinions, so why post? Replace your MC and
"pressure bleed regardless". Never FWAB, or preform a procedure that you
believe is unnecessary!
Maybe a little history re: your problem is in order. Have you ever
overhauled the total brake hydraulic system, All calipers, MC and since
then flushed fluid biennially (great word!)?

Bernie: I may not believe SOME of what you write..............but here's
why:
The pedal travels 1" resistance free....... PERIOD unless the brakes are
dragging, then the brakes are INSTANT response.
Now the pedal is connected to the MC right????????
AS for the brakes.. They grab hot and let go cold.......
Which dynamic is more responsible for directing pedal pressure to squeezing
the pads against the rotors? Fluid.
Only if the brakes didn't grab and release due to temp would "air" in the MC
start to warrant any consideration. Air in the MC would affect braking
under all conditions..not a symptom I have here.
-Scott doing pad change and pressure bleed regardless.

Don't believe me OK, but who's your kook that convinced you that MC seals
swell with heat?
MCs are much less prone to "Seals, scored pistons from crud build-up,
failures, whatever the reason" failures than are calipers, from lack of
proper maintaince. Air in the system is much more prone to temperature
changes than is brake fluid. Overhaul your MC and then bleed the system
GOOD!
