BTDT on not using servo pump

Last year I went to look at a 90 quattro that was for sale for $1500. Along
with many, many other problems the pump was missing. I asked the seller why
it was gone and he said he took it out to save weight!?

For those who don't know, the pump provides pressure for power steering,
power brake assist and ABS. You lose all of those if the pump doesn't work
(or isn't even there!)
