Cold start Valve

OK, stupid question.  Where is the cold start valve on our car? Can anyone point
me to a page for testing/checking out?  I've dug around Scott and Chris' pages,
but my search-fu is weak.

 My car will not start now when cold (sitting overnight or all day).  When it
*does* start, it coughs and sputters, and seems like it is only running on 2-3
cylinders.  It acts like this for a minute or so, and then runs fine.

Once the car has run, it is fine, starts right up.
