Stupid Delta Bose Radio.

I too have the GAMMA Bose radio in my 91 200.

Tracing through my receipts, the previous owner had a problem with the original Bose head unit in 1992...the dealer replaced it with the S4 GAMMA head unit of that time and was plug-n-play.

Best part...if you get the "correct" GAMMA unit with the "MODE" function, you can add a hard-wired CD changer similar to that of the S4 (though the time and cost of piecing together the system was a bit too tenuous for me so I went with FM modulation (e.g., proper Sony CD changer, cording, the CD harness to the deck and to the transceiver...available out of a wrecked S4/6 cut with 4" of length of wire on deck side and trunk side spliced together, and of course, the out-of-Europe-only transceiver). I have a urS4 buddy who bought the European transceiver for his S4 and added the proper Sony changer (way easier of a job because the wiring is all there in the car) and the Bose hardwired changer sound PHENOMENAL!

Nonetheless a good head unit if considering a GAMMA upgrade.

It appears that the radio in my car, (which came with the car when I bought
  it used),
is different from the factory original. I believe it is the GAMMA. It works
  fine with
no problems with the factory Bose.
