wheel feel off follow-up

It appears that the ball joint separated causing the whole suspension to
shift aft in the wheel well.  The disappointing news is that the car is
difficult to align now with a new ball joint.  The subframe is bent.  They
are haiving difficulty alligning the caster.  Dont know much more than
that.

My mechanic told me that I could
1)replace subframe for big $$$ or look for a used for less big $$$
2)live with it.

So I am getting the car and going to see how bad this alignment is.
Everyone I have talked to has asked what I hit.  The answer is nothing
more than Boston pot holes.

Any other input?
