Instrument cluster removal

I'm trying to get the instrument cluster out of my 200q 20v, and came upon
an impass. Took out all the screws and hex bolts, but when it came time to
pull the cluster away from the dash, I fell upon a good bit of resistance.
Now, normally, this wouldn't bother me, as gentleness is not a trait I
aspire to. But, my bull-in-a-chinashop ways have cost me quite a bit of
money in the past few weeks, so I am erring on the side of caution.

The cluster on my 80q comes out quite easily without removing the steering
wheel or any other parts of the dash. Am I not so lucky with the 200? Do I
need to dig further?

Let me know,
