RS2 Turbo Group Buy - Cross Post

Please pardon my ignorance on this matter, but
wouldn't a newer designed T3/T4 Garrett hybrid (like I
said ignorant, that name is possibly incorrect) be
better and cheaper?  

I understand that adding either turbo will require a
different chip if I'm upgrading the turbo, and I also
understand that the water lines on the hybrid turbo
need to be reworked to interface correctly.

My plan to replace old parts with performace parts
included a hybrid turbo if the time comes.  Are there
any drawbacks to the hybrid turbo?

Is there a common mileage point at which our turbos
fail?
