Did that this morning. Code came up for 'engine speed sensor'.
He ran and cleared it, then ran it again. The light now comes on then
goes out like normal and the car is driving fine. We blasted the plenum
area with compressed air while shop-vaccing the debris as it blew around.
I looked under the hood of a type 44 parts car and noticed that there is
a piece of rubber moulding that runs parallel to the fuse box which is
(was)
missing from my car. So hopefully that's that.
I suggest to everyone that a periodic cleaning of the plenum area should be
considered seasonal maintenance.
