Happersized Rear Sway Bars(HRSB)

Hap,
You will have to bear with me and tell more of what you are doing. The only
info that I have seen on your bar previously is your email to Eric K that he
fwd to me, in which you defined the diameter of the S4 stock bar as being
17mm but did not define the dia of your bar. Further, I miss read your
stock bar" figure of merit" as being 331 lbs, not 33 lbs, when written as
33lbs.
My mistake!
Thus, your 26mm bar should be 5.5 times as stiff as is the stock 17mm bar,
everything else being equal. If you have also shortened the rod's moment
arm, it is further stiffened. So, apparently your "figure of merit" values
for your bar are understated (not the 5.5X that of the stock bar, as the
diameter change would dictate) and without considering a moment arm
forshortening.
How much is too much? Have you also stiffened the (200-20V's 26mm) front
bar, by using the V8's 28mm bar, which would be a 35% stiffness increase?
I'd love to try your roll stiff mod! The way to go! Thanks for the
clarification.
Bernie

You're about the only person I've corresponded with that doesn't seem to
grasp the benefit of a bar that is significantly larger in diameter,
26mm(HRSB) vs 17mm(stock) and has a shorter moment arm(3 adjustments with
progressively shoter arms-HRSB) vs the stock single longer arm. As I have
said before to you the HRSB is good for 125, 140 and 155lbs of anti-roll and
the stock is good for 33lbs. End of story.
