Crank Breather Hose needs Viagra

While were beating the ailing horse.........what would the ramification
be for cutting out the bad section, capping the ccb hose by the tee and
installing a breather cap on the cranckcase connection??

That's probably because you did not attach that check-valve section 
to the new hose as the first step, done _before_ there's a need to 
climb on top of the engine.
