I found that when I was getting a sound from my drive shaft that it was the
front CV joint on the shaft that needed greased.  If my memory serves me
correctly the exhaust pipe was close to the front CV and the grease had
dried out.  I cleaned the old grease out of the CV joint and put new grease
in and it several years ago and it has never made a sound since.  I did the
rear CV also since I figured it might need new grease also.  I do remember
that the bolts were very difficult to remove since the factory used some
type of thread locker that worked very well.
