Coolant temperature weirdness

Ditto here...
seems to be a "slow " indication.,....at about 1/4 on the highway, goes to
"normal" in stop and the fan works when its supposed to.
thermostat was installed (new) as part of a timing belt job in Nov 2002
during the TB job.
