Interior lights not triggered by door

Hello, all,

I'm having some trouble with my interior lights, and I'm hoping someone 
can help me with this particular luxury.  The lights--up front in the 
center and in the back reading lights--will go on when I switch them on 
manually, but when I put the switches in the door position, they will 
not come on when a door is opened.  I have checked the triggers in the 
doors--all look fine.  I just replaced the relay on a lark, but to no 
avail.  The relay buzzes when the door is open and the key is in (both 
the old and the new relay).  Basically, the lights don't come on when 
the doors are opened, although they seem to work fine in all other 
cases.  I've got the Bentley and am struggling with the wiring 
diagrams, but "struggling" is the operative word here.  Any advice 
would be appreciated.

By the way, I'm a newbie, having purchased my beautiful 1991 200q20v 
last November.  Since then, I've been soaking up the knowledge from 
this list and scanning the archives--what an impressive group!  I only 
hope that someday I will be in a position to be a helpful participant.
