propeller shaft

Don't know if it is the same sound, but the front cv joint is known to have
the grease dry out.  On my S4 the shop just  repacked it with grease. End of
noise. (you do have to drop the exhaust)

The source of the awful "swirling and shaking screws in a coffee can" noise
has been found to be coming from the propeller shaft cv joint. Bentley says
the shaft is non-repairable; and is of preposterous expence. Has anyone
rebuilt one? Parts?
