My experience with Autofrost was, shall we say, unsatisfactory.

See http://www.audifans.com/pipermail/200q20v/2002-June/009463.html

Replaced the expansion valve on the GTI last year because it stopped
"expanding" - can I blame that on the R-406a too? - after that still working
well with R-134a. The new valve said it was "compatible with R-134a" but I
don't know if that meant it was somehow "recalibrated" or just
materials-compatible.

If you are going to replace the hoses with barrier type, and all o-rings so
the R-406a doesn't leak out you might as well be doing an R-134a conversion,
IMHO. R-134a is not leaking on my GTI with just a few o-rings replaced,
still using the original hoses. James likes the fancy R-134a conversion
expansion valve from acsource.com, but I think he's got another conversion
with original expansion valve and it works just fine too.
