lock vacum pump

Unless I'm mistaken, you should be able to lock/unlock all the doors from
the passenger side front door.  If this works, it points to the more likely
problem -- a broken door lock actuator attached to the front door lock
mechanism.  What about if you are in the car and pull down/push up on the
driver's door lock knob?  If this works, it points to the same problem.
Haven't done the repair myself (crossing fingers).
