I follow the same change frequency - but more likely with about 10k change 
intervals. I use Mobil1 15w50 year round in Montana. Losta summer time temps 
in the 90-100 range and winter temps can do 30 below but I would say more 
typical is in the -5 to +10 range. Taking a bottle of 15w50synth alongside a 
bottle of 15w40 Delo 400 in the winter, the synth pours _much_ better than 
the 15w40.
