clutch heavy?

Just got my car back from having the clutch replaced today (bad throw-out
bearing).

A few observations, at 176k miles, still had some material left on the clutch
(but not much). The pedal pushes much easier (bought the car with 68k and
pedal was stiff). Replaced leaky rack and checked the hard to reach vacuum stuff
on the rear of the motor. Found excessive play in the stainless ball part of
the shift linkage (penned it tight and shifter now has less slop).

Cruise control now works! (don't know why).

Use Lehmans Garage in Eagan MN. They let me supply my own parts and were
great to work with. Cost was 1K, (clutch, resurface flywheel, install rack and
alignment, plus some misc. stuff). Had no problem letting me under the car to
check other stuff.
