windshield wiper motor woes

He, he. When I bought the V8 5sp I thought something was amiss -- and I was right. The wiper arms had been reversed -- I forget now the designations, but I believe they are marked on the arm (under the plastic nut cap) F (Fahrer "Driver) and P (passenger) or R (Rechts "Right") and L (Links "Left")

  Ingo:
I think someone bent the pass arm just a wee bit so it hits the hood and made a rust spot. It's been going on for a while before I got the car.
The hinge of the arm area is visibly "up".

    Scott,

If your wiper arms hit the hood, then IME the hood is adjusted too far back.
The arms should be close, but they should not hit when the hood is opened.
