Chuck,

It's much better than the stock unit, I've got a 95 S6
with 110K so it was time I replaced mine.  The
difference was immediate, more precise with a shorter
throw and better feel - a recommended upgrade.

I was one of the first beta testers so not sure if
he's made any changes.  I had my mechanic put it in,
we didn't have any documentation for the install,
otherwise it went well.

A friend of mine has the Apikol shifter in his 93 S4,
mine felt a little tighter with a shorter throw, all
subjective seat of the pants testing, not scientific.
