A/C clutch removal tool

I'm having no luck finding a substitute method for removing the A/C clutch
on my 200q20v.  The VW 1623 tool threads into the clutch and has a smaller
threaded push rod that pushes against the compressor shaft to remove the
clutch.  The thread inside the clutch apparently is a 24 mm with a 2.5
pitch.  I thought a bolt that size could be drilled and tapped to make my
own extracting tool.  However, no fastener supplier locally has or can get
a 24 mm X 2.5 pitch bolt for me.   I had no problem holding the clutch
steady with waterpump pliers  to remove its retaining nut.  Any suggestions?
