I have learned over the years (Bernie will be pleased) that as far as brake
calipers go .... stay with the Audi OEM stuff and rebuild them.
I've had real problems with aftermarket (i.e. Chinese) calipers on various
5000's / 100's/ 200's - the things just don't hold up.
Could be inferior metal and/or bad assembly .... who knows.
I've often resorted to getting the OE calipers and rebuilding them just so
I know they are OE Audi..
Clean them up and brake-specific grease and/or seals is all you need, they
are incredibly simple devices and if the fluid is changed regularly then
overhaul is only needed every 100k or so.
My 20v at 105k still has original rear stuff - flawless, my '88 5k has had
multiple nasty problems with aftermarket calipers (soon to be Audi OE).
