I hear you, had the first ski race camp on Saturday.  Local ski area  in 
Minneapolis.
a whopping 300 feet of vertical!, over a 28" manmade base.
 
Our Ski team had the annual midnight unofficial/unsanctioned race to the  top 
of one of the hills.  My 200 remains undefeated for 5 years  running.  A 
Subaru was a distant second with all the SUV's and trucks way  back in the pack.
