ABS light

Mike,
One possibility is the ABS dash switch, itself. When my car's ABS 
switch became erratic,  I couldn't reliably turn the ABS _off_ (and 
if it occassionally would switch off, it took 20 tries to get it back 
on). I don't know if a switch problem could account for your exact 
symptoms, but it's fairly easy to take the switch apart and clean. I 
have very good hearing, but I don't recall a relay "click" when the 
ABS is switched ON/OFF (maybe my memory is not as good as my hearing).
