Hello George
I have had the same problem.
I just went down to a local muffler shop and had them put a couple of 
cats in.
passed smog 1st try.
My car has been using oil so the oil killed the cats in 2 yrs.
So this time around I had the cats put in with flanges so pull them and 
stick in a pair of oem cats with the guts knocked out.
This way I will save the good cats for when it time to do the smog test. 
I plan on sorting out the oil problem so I can be legal.
