Mr original 200q went over 200k West Coast miles with UFOs and no tear.
Current one has some unknown miles in PA and CO, has G60's and has the tear.

Agreed.  I'm still sure it's mileage/pot-hole related.  I'd be interested if
any of the West Coast (always west-coast) 200q20v cars have this tear.
